China-Mongolia border port manages over 1 mn tonnes of cargo in 2022

The port of Erenhot, which is the largest land port situated on the China-Mongolia border, has recorded overseeing more than 1 million tonnes of cargo that was transported via inbound China-Europe freight trains in 2022. The port had supervised 750 inbound China-Europe freight trains, which was a rise of 12 per cent year-on-year.

About 3.1 billion yuan worth of goods were transported in 84,660 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers, according to Erenhot Customs. The goods that were imported mainly comprised paper pulp, kraft paper, and sheet materials.

Erenhot port currently operates 58 China-Europe freight train routes, which touch over 60 cities spanning more than 10 countries.
