The port’s export and import cargo volumes exceeded 238,600 tonnes and 1.18 million tonnes respectively on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, according to local media reports.
The increase in the port’s cargo post the pandemic can be attributed to improvement of services like train inspection, cargo customs clearance, and reloading operations. Situated in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Erenhot links more than 60 overseas destinations across over 10 countries via 64 China-Europe freight-train routes.
