China’s rail-sea intermodal freight trains, which run along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, have carried around 756,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers, which is an increase of 18.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY), as per the railway authority of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The trade corridor has been extended to around 338 ports in 113 countries and regions.

The import and export value of goods between China and other Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member nations via the port touched 69.77 billion yuan (around $10 billion) in January–November 2022, which was an increase of 44.7 per cent YoY.

After the implementation of the RCEP a year ago, trade and economic cooperation within the region saw a boost as goods from China and other RCEP member states turn around quickly at Qinzhou Port, China Railway Nanning Group Co Ltd said.

The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, which was launched in 2017, is a trade and logistics passage that was a collaborative project between provincial-level regions in western China and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members, according to several Chinese media reports.
