A virtual interactive option will also be made available for those unable to attend in person, Textile Exchange announced on its website.
Last year, the conference saw high participation, with 984 in-person attendees and 829 joining virtually from across the globe. The event focused on developing a collective pathway to a positive impact, which included initiatives to reduce the industry’s carbon emissions. The aim was to restrict global warming to 1.5°C and yield beneficial outcomes for soil health, water, and biodiversity.
The primary objective of the conference is to facilitate a global production model that is ecologically responsible. It seeks to find solutions that not only minimise the industry’s negative impact but also contribute positively to nature.
The conference is a vital opportunity to collaboratively explore challenges and solutions for a resilient future. As the textile industry grapples with its role in climate change, the Textile Exchange Conference 2023 aims to serve as an important platform for fostering sustainable practices and aligning around best practices for a more resilient future, Textile Exchange said.
