A subsidiary of Shandong and China based Daiyin Textile and Garment Group, Daiyin Textile (M) Sdn Bhd is investing around RM 500 million to expand operations in Malaysia.

Malaysian media quoted general manager Steven Cheng as saying that RM 300 million would be invested in expansion of its existing yarn spinning plant, which will double output to 40 million kg per annum.

While the rest of RM 200 million would be spent in setting up a new plant to produce denim jeans, earmarked for exports to the US.

According to Cheng, both the projects would help create 1,100 new job opportunities, up from around 300 workers currently. (AR)
