Denmark's Embassy in Pakistan, in collaboration with textile enzymes producer Novozymes, organised a seminar in Lahore, as part of a series of seminars, business meetings, and textile mill visits in Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi that will go on for a week.

At the seminar in Lahore, some of the solutions presented showed that energy costs could be reduced by 25 per cent, water use by up to 75 per cent and processes shortened by up to 90 minutes.

Jens Kolind, vice president technical industries at Novozymes said, "Sustainable business practices, improved quality and innovation should not come at a price against being competitive."

"Novozymes understands that the Pakistan textile sector needs to remain competitive in the global markets, and we offer our support with our solutions," Kolind added.

Shujaat Hussain Alavi, sales manager at Novozymes too said, "With the launch of the global goals on sustainable development, it was necessary to highlight message of sustainability and quality in textile processing.” (AR)
