European Outdoor Summit (EOS), an event where the outdoor industry comes together, has announced that due to the uncertain situation with Covid-19, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) has postponed the EOS until 2021. The EOS Summit will take place in Annecy, France, in the autumn, and the EOG is looking at suitable dates, which will be announced shortly.

The group reported that the decision has been made as a result of consultation with Outdoor Sports Valley (OSV), the EOS partners for 2020 and the EOG board. Due to the impact that Covid-19 is having on the industry, as well as the different stages of development of the virus in different European countries, combined with the general uncertainty, the EOG believes that the best decision is to postpone the event to ensure its value for all involved.

”The EOS is a key event for senior executives and future leaders in our industry, delivering inspirational speakers as well as invaluable opportunities to network with colleagues. We want to ensure that we deliver the best event possible, to benefit the industry and provide insights into key topics. Unfortunately, this Autumn is not the right time and our members, delegates and sponsors need to concentrate on their businesses and families for the time being. We acknowledge that. We will continue to work on all aspects of the event so that we can meet up again in 2021 to debate, share knowledge and experiences and to work together to continue to re-build and re-shape our industry as well as spend valuable time networking with each other,” Arne Strate, general secretary, EOG, said in a press release.
