Four-day 5th BIGTEX expo to kick-off from Nov 7

A four-day 5th Bangladesh International Garment & Textile Industry Exposition (BIGTEX), will begin on November 7 at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka. RedCarpet365 Ltd, organiser of the expo, disclosed details about the mega exhibition at a press conference on November 3 at Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) auditorium in the city.

Commence minister Tipu Munshi is expected to inaugurate the exposition on November 7 at 2:30pm which will continue until November 10.

The organisers said targeting the entire textile, garment and apparel industry, they are organising four international exhibitions simultaneously at the same place – named Garment & Textile Machinery, Printing, Packaging & Sign Machinery, Dyes & Pigments Chemicals and Fabric & Yarn Expo. The exhibitions will also play an important role by showcasing latest machineries, technologies, dyes/chemicals, yarns, fabrics of Bangladesh to the manufacturers/suppliers from around the world.

The expo will provide an opportunity to experts, engineers and technicians in the field of textile to have a practical knowledge of the recent technological advancements available, without going abroad.

Garment and textile machinery, equipment, technology & accessories - manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers and importers from home and abroad will participate and showcase their latest technology and innovation in the exhibition.

The expo will have almost 160 stalls from 14 countries including Asia and Europe. It will help foreign manufacturer, dealers and suppliers to showcase their products, where Bangladesh textile factory owners and apparel exporters can get in touch with them.

"This exhibition will also focus on the untapped markets that are flexible and important for Bangladesh.

Being the second largest apparel exporter in the world, top denim exporter to EU and world’s second largest knitwear exporter, Bangladesh Garment & Textile Industry have to face lot of competition with close competing countries like India, Vietnam, Cambodia & Sri Lanka," said Imtiaz. "Keeping in concern the high demand of 'Made in Bangladesh' products, we have to keep this growth in continuation basis and need proper machinery, raw materials, yarn, fabric, dyes & chemicals supplies at best price."

Besides, the participants will be able to identify business contacts with prospect of entering into subsequent business negotiations, he said.

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association is the associate partner of the exhibition and Well Group is the co-partner of the expo. The expo is supported by Printing & Printing Equipment Industries Association of China (PEIAC) and China Screen Printing & Graphic Imaging Association (CSGIA), endorsed by Bangladesh Sign Materials and Machineries Importers Association (BSMMIA) & Bangladesh Digital Printers Owners Association (BDPOA).

Fatematuj Johra, director marketing - Redcarpet365 Ltd, Moazzem Hossain, sr. joint secretary, BKMEA, Zafar Ahmed, president of BDPOA, H M Imran, president of BSMMIA, M A Islam Riyad, editor of Textile Focus also spoke about the exhibition in the press conference.
