GDP expands by 4.14% in Vietnam in Q2 2023

Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) growth rose to 4.14 per cent in the second quarter (Q2) this year from 3.32 per cent in the previous, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

The industry and construction sector—accounting for 11.87 per cent of the economy—grew by 2.5 per cent, contributing 23.63 per cent of the total GDP; and the service sector—accounting for 78.85 per cent—was up by 6.11 per cent, accounting for 67.84 per cent of the GDP.

The country’s GDP expanded by 3.72 per cent between January and June this year, according to Vietnamese media reports.

Domestic consumption, stimulating policies and tourism promotion activities were some of the major factors contributing to the high growth of the service sector.
