GDP up 0.3% in euro area, 0.4% in EU in Q1 2022 over Q4 2021 figures

In the first quarter (Q1) of 2022, seasonally adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.3 per cent in the euro area and by 0.4 per cent in the European Union (EU) compared with the previous quarter, according to a flash estimate published by Eurostat, the EU statistical office. In Q4 2021, GDP had grown by 0.3 per cent in the euro area and by 0.5 per cent in the EU.

Compared with Q1 2021, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 5.1 per cent in the euro area and by 5.2 per cent in the EU in Q1 2022.

During Q1 2022, GDP in the United States decreased by 0.4 per cent compared to the previous quarter. Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, GDP there increased by 3.6 per cent.
