Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) fell slightly by 0.1 per cent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023 compared with Q2 2023 after adjustment for price, seasonal, and calendar variations. In Q2 2023, economic performance had increased slightly (0.1 per cent, revised), after stagnating in Q1 2023 (revised).GDP in Q3 2023 was down a price adjusted 0.8 per cent compared with Q3 2022, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said in a press release.
Germany's gross domestic product (GDP) experienced a minor decline of 0.1 per cent in Q3 2023 compared to Q2 2023, after adjustments for price, seasonal, and calendar variations.
This follows a marginal Q2 2023 increase of 0.1 per cent and stagnation in Q1 2023.
When compared with Q3 2022, the GDP was down by a price-adjusted 0.8 per cent.
The decrease was smaller (-0.3 per cent) after price and calendar adjustment as there was one working day less than in the same period a year earlier.
