Germany's Q3 2023 GDP dips slightly after Q2 growth

Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) fell slightly by 0.1 per cent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023 compared with Q2 2023 after adjustment for price, seasonal, and calendar variations. In Q2 2023, economic performance had increased slightly (0.1 per cent, revised), after stagnating in Q1 2023 (revised).

GDP in Q3 2023 was down a price adjusted 0.8 per cent compared with Q3 2022, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said in a press release.

The decrease was smaller (-0.3 per cent) after price and calendar adjustment as there was one working day less than in the same period a year earlier.
