Exports of Greek apparel and textiles jumped to €763 million in the January-May period this year—a rise of 21 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to Greek Fashion, the association of Greek apparel producers, which recently said exports by the cotton sector led this increase with a 49 per cent upturn, totaling €257 million.

While apparel export rose by 11 per cent to €333 million during the period, exports of textiles grew by 3 per cent totaling €173 million.

Greek Fashion said the export of clothing was spectacular in the March-May period, recording a 70 per cent jump after a 30 per cent decline in the first two months of the year, according to a report in a Greek newspaper.
