The inaugural was graced by chief guest Darshana Vikram Jardosh, minister of state (MoS) for textiles & railways, government of India, U P Singh, secretary textiles, government of India and B. B. Swain, secretary, ministry of MSME, government of India and acclaimed fashion designer Suneet Varma.

“The 11th edition of HGH India is taking place at a time when India is celebrating its 75th year of independence (Amrut Mohatsav) which is the best time to showcase the make in India wave and have it shine globally. HGH India is promoting local artisans and small players, helping them grow through this platform. There are events which either focus on domestic market or international players but here at HGH India, it is a beautiful amalgam of both the worlds, making it a medley of talent, innovation and technology in this space. Platforms like such further support India’s mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” said MoS Jardosh.

At HGH India 2022, there will be 6 focus areas – World of Sleep, Home furniture, Smart kitchen, Walls and Windows, and Kid’s Home and Outdoor. HGH India is a convergence of global and Indian exhibitors with a clear focus on India’s domestic market.

The trade show provides an opportunity to explore several products and stabilise supplies in categories like furnishing fabrics, blinds, bed and bath, decorative made-ups, table and kitchen linen, rugs and carpets, wallpaper, wooden and synthetic floorings, decorative accessories, handicrafts, home furniture, outdoor lifestyle, houseware, kitchenware, cookware, glassware, tableware, plastic products, kids’ home products and a variety of gifts. Innovations from over 400 brands and manufacturers from 30 countries and all major production and export centres from all over India are on display at HGH India 2022.

“I'm extremely happy to be at HGH India. I had the chance to witness HGH India last year also. I am told that it is now a bi-annual trade show and will continue to take place in both, New Delhi and Mumbai. In India, whenever we talk of textiles, we always go by the export figures. It's a matter of satisfaction that last financial year, India exported more than $44 billion worth of textiles and handicrafts, which is an all-time record. The demand for textile in the domestic market is very high. Especially after pandemic, one sector under textile which has really got a boost has been home textile,” said U P Singh.

“Government has also launched 7 mega textile parks that would take care of the high logistics cost as well as the fragmented value chain which we have. Most of the major exporting destinations like US and EU are all going for a China Plus One Strategy which will prove to be beneficial for India since the cost of labour is low as compared to China,” added Singh.

Arun Roongta, managing director, HGH India, talked about the anticipated outcome from the 11th edition, which is also the second consecutive show in Greater Noida. He said, “With growing incomes and aspirations, Indian consumers spend on high quality and branded home products continues to grow rapidly, now at a rate even ahead of China. With a consistent annual demand growth of over 20 per cent for most of the home category products for the last 5 years, which is expected to maintain this pace over the next decade, Indian market is heading for good times. This is our second time in Greater Noida. With the number of visitor registrations higher than any of the previous editions, and some of the world’s most popular brands in home space showcasing their breakthrough technological innovations, business across all categories of the show like home textiles, home décor, houseware and gifts are bound to be vibrant.”

In products, designs, colours and materials, cutting across categories like home textiles, home décor, home furniture, area rugs, floor coverings, handicrafts, outdoor, houseware, cookware, kitchenware and gifts - HGH India 22, will unveil several new concepts.
