  • India's polyester and viscose yarn markets remained sluggish as winter demand waned, and summer demand is yet to begin. Prices stayed largely steady in Ludhiana and Surat amid weak buying, payment constraints and rising Chinese fabric imports. Viscose yarn eased in Surat and Mumbai. Cotton prices rose in north India due to aggressive CCI buying, despite limited demand.

The Ludhiana market witnessed stability in PC and polyester yarn prices. The market saw limited trade in both products. Although, recycled polyester fibre eased by &#****;* per kg after drop in virgin PSF. A trader from the Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “Local market is facing limited demand and thin trade in textile raw materials. Winter demand has been slowed down as cold season has entered in its final phase. But summer garment manufacturing has not started yet. Payment constraints also discouraged buying in the market.”
