Indonesia’s fabric imports stood at $4,380.986 million in 2024. The inbound shipments had previously been recorded at $4,774.308 million in 2022, dropping to $4,005.097 million in 2023, and further declining in 2024, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
Yarn imports fell to $214.038 million in the first quarter of 2025 from $219.006 million in the same period last year. Full-year yarn imports were recorded at $903.221 million in 2024, compared to $770.389 million in 2023 and $916.386 million in 2022, indicating a recovery in 2024 over 2023.
In 2022, Indonesia’s yarn imports had risen significantly as global textile and garment demand rebounded after the pandemic.
The country exported yarn worth $270.267 million in January–March 2025, notably lower than the $329.159 million exported during the same period last year, marking an 18 per cent decline in the first three months of 2025. Previous annual yarn exports were $1,206.828 million in 2024, $1,368.410 million in 2023, and $1,729.174 million in 2022, according to TexPro.
Fabric exports were recorded at $200.248 million in the first quarter of 2025, down from $213.340 million during the same period last year. Annual fabric exports stood at $829.657 million in 2024, $869.960 million in 2023, and $915.194 million in 2022.
