The move is aimed at creating an ecosystem to make textile industry competitive to face the global competition through “better manufacturing efficiency and best practices” by bringing together all the textile entrepreneurs.
In the current scenario, spinning mills are facing worker shortage and high level of attrition. As a result, new recruitment and training are a continuous process in all units.
The first training video on autoconer department covers: right work methods, safety measures during work, methods to increase productivity, methods to maintain machine and working area, techniques for reduction of wastage, proper method of handing over work to next shift, etc.
In fact, the video covers the entire work best practices and techniques that need to be followed in the autoconer department.
“In all the spinning mills, we have exclusive training departments and exclusive trainers. We collected all the best practices prevailing in our member mills, and prepared this video training film with the help of professionals,” ITF convenor Prabhu Dhamodharan said in a press release. “Like the released video on autoconer training, we are planning to release 10 more videos related to other departments in our spinning industry.”
“Mills will first train all the new workers who are joining their job with these training videos for better understanding and know-how on proper methodology of work before inducting them in to practical training on the shop floor,” Dhamodharan said.
ITF has uploaded videos in English, Tamil and Hindi on youtube. Mills from across India can download the same free-of-cost and use the training videos for their workers’ training. It will help all the mills to make training more interesting and also have a professional approach towards the same, he added. (RKS)
