Jacket Required, held on January 23 and 24, 2019, in UK, saw a high rise in the number of visitors. The busy, energetic atmosphere and the effective new layout was praised by exhibitors and visitors, with the consensus that Jacket Required delivers a cool, edgy show that places product, from a mix of big brand names and new designers, at the forefront.

The re-designed layout provided a more effective visitor experience and a bustling ambiance throughout the two days, driving footfall more evenly around the venue. The In Talks With seminar programme proved very popular, with visitors flocking to see the ‘Crafted to Last’ talk with designer Christopher Raeburn, Han Ates from Blackhorse Lane Ateliers and Stacey Wood from King & Tuckfield. Chaired by Caryn Franklin MBE, the talk put the focus on the movement towards slow fashion and the creation of crafted to last garments, something they outlined should be the norm in fashion, not the exception, according to a press release on the show.

Across the rest of the show, a host of new brands exhibited for the first time, including G-Star, RÆBURN, &Sons, American Trench, Bather, Buffalo London, C17, Haar, Kleman, Knickerbocker, LF Markey, Mr Mullans, North Sails, Pendleton, Stutterheim, Supremacy, Thomas Thorowgood, Welter Shelter, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, Absolutely Bear, Blackstone, CDLP, Chrome Industries, Conscious Step, Glacial, Grenfell, Heartbreaker, Independent, London Brogues, Musto, Norfolk Natural Living, Oakwood, Oliver Sweeney, Olney Headwear, Pennata, Powell Peralta, Smartwool, Thee Great Sebastian, Psycho Bunny, The Presidents Club, and US Polo ASSN. And several collaborations launched at the show including Element x Nigel Cabourn. While big name brands included Ben Sherman, Guess, Hunter, Birkenstock, Superga, TOMS, Kangol, K-Swiss, Colorful Standard, Cheaney, Grenson, Merrell, Quiksilver, Roxy, Timberland, Weekend Offender, and Loake.
