  • At ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025, Karl Mayer's Warp Knitting Business Unit will present two new tricot machines.
  • The company will showcase a 2-bar model for high-speed elastic fabrics and a 4-bar model designed for cost-sensitive fashion markets.
  • It will also feature an inspiring textile display spanning tricot, lace, raschel, and spacer fabrics.

The Karl Mayer Warp Knitting Business Unit, the company’s most significant division and a global leader in warp knitting machinery, is set to make a major impact at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025 in Singapore from October 28–31, 2025.

Known for its cutting-edge technology, superior quality, and innovation, Karl Mayer will use the platform to demonstrate how it continues to shape the future of the warp knitting industry.

Under the leadership of Axel Wintermeyer, who became president of the Warp Knitting Business Unit and a member of the Management Board in January 2025, the division is driving a transformation focused on customer value, innovation, and agility.

“We are refining our product portfolio so that we can serve our customers’ needs with maximum effectiveness, and we are concentrating all our capacities on projects that bring our customers the greatest added value. I am also concerned with agility in our innovation process: we are purposefully strengthening our innovative power and acting more dynamically, flexibly and responsively in our pursuit of further progress in order to ensure a successful innovation pipeline,” Wintermeyer outlined his vision speaking with Christine Wolters, head of corporate communications.

Reflecting on nearly 29 years at Karl Mayer, Wintermeyer described his motivation as deeply personal: pride in contributing to a global leader’s growth. From expanding business in India and doubling market share in Korea to growing the composites and spare parts segments, his career has been defined by impact and innovation. He also credited Karl J Mayer, representative of the advisory board and the Mayer family, for his continued guidance and strong commitment to innovation.

The president also acknowledged Karl Mayer’s enduring reputation as a cornerstone of its success.

“Karl Mayer enjoys an excellent standing in the market. We have worked hard for decades to build up our reputation and our brand. These are threatened daily by our direct and indirect competitors. Everyone at the company makes a hugely important contribution every day to protecting and maintaining Karl Mayer’s reputation,” he noted.

At ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025, Karl Mayer will present two groundbreaking tricot machines that embody its technological excellence. The new 2-bar tricot machine for elastic fabrics delivers record-breaking productivity, higher energy efficiency, and reduced handling effort—setting a new benchmark for performance.

The new 4-bar tricot machine, designed for price-sensitive fashion markets, offers an exceptional price-performance ratio, ideal for producing trendy fabrics like seersucker.

Beyond machinery, the company will also stage an inspiring textile showcase featuring exclusive fabrics and fashion items across all its technological areas—tricot, lace & raschel, and spacer fabrics—highlighting its deep textile expertise and application-driven innovation.

“Focusing on textiles is extremely important to us. Only in this way can we provide our customers with optimal support – with machines that meet their requirements, as well as with textile expertise and application orientation,” Wintermeyer concluded.
