TEXPO-2019, the biggest textile exhibition organised by the Pakistani Government in Lahore recently, attracted trade orders worth $600 million from foreign buyers, according to the country’s commerce secretary Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, who said 363 buyers from more than 50 nations participated in the event. This was the second edition of the event.

Foreign buyers also signed 10 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Pakistani export houses, besides visiting field and industrial units in Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad, Pakistani media reports quoted the secretary as saying.

More than 5,000 business-to-business meetings were also held on the sidelines of the event. (DS)
