  • In July 2024, Netherlands' exports increased 2.2 per cent year-on-year, while imports fell 0.7 per cent, according to CBS.
  • However, the CBS Exports Radar for September shows a worsening outlook due to declining optimism among European manufacturers and decreased confidence from German manufacturers, leading to more unfavourable export conditions.
In July 2024, the total volume of Dutch goods exported saw a 2.2 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, after adjusting for the number of working days, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS).

However, while exports rose, imports experienced a slight decline, with a 0.7 per cent drop in the volume of goods imported compared to July 2023.

Looking ahead, the CBS Exports Radar for September points to a more challenging outlook for exports. Conditions have worsened since July, primarily due to declining optimism among European manufacturers about foreign orders. In particular, confidence among German manufacturers has taken a downturn, contributing to the increasingly negative export environment, as per the CBS.
