The inflation rate for the Netherlands, measured by the consumer price index (CPI), stood at 3.3 per cent in January, down from 4.1 per cent in December 2024, according to a flash estimate by Statistics Netherlands (CBS).

“According to the flash estimate, consumer prices were 0.3 per cent lower in January than they were in December 2024,” CBS said in a press release.

Inflation stood at 2.9 per cent in January, according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) flash estimate. However, in December 2024 it stood at 3.9 per cent.

The cost of consumer goods and services in the Netherlands rose by 4 per cent in November 2024 year-on-year, up from October’s inflation rate of 3.5 per cent, according to the CBS.

The official CPI figures for January will be released on February 13, 2025.
