RSWM plans Rs300 crore expansion

As a part of their expansion plan, Rajasthan Spinning and Weaving Mills (RSWM) will invest Rs300 crore to set up a new plant to manufacture trousers, and also enter denim fabrics segment.

The company will infuse funds to the tune of additional Rs150 crore to establish captive power plant.

Vijay Bakshi, Business Head, Fabrics and Garments announced that the Rs250 crore denim fabric plant will have the capacity of producing 20 million meters per year.

The plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2006.

Flagship company of the Rs 2,000 crore LNJ Bhilwara group, RSWM today launched a new collection, Glazano, under its Mayur Suitings brand.

Glazano is claimed to be the first of its kind in the country to use nano technology in manufacturing. RSWM has tied up with the Switzerland-based speciality and fine chemicals manufacturer Clariant to use nano technology to produce the Glazano range

This collection will target youth oriented market featuring Cricketer and Mayur Suiting Brand Ambassador, Virendra Sehwag in the new line.

Rs50 crore plant in Bangalore will produce around 12000 men and women's trousers per day, which will be marketed under the new brand.

The plant has partly begun production for its international client, Marks & Spencer.

The company estimates its turnover to reach Rs 450 crore, up from Rs 135 crore in a few years with the accrual of sales from the new suiting brand.
