Teijin's three fiber subsidiaries receive NOSH award

The Teijin Group announced that its polyester fiber subsidiaries Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Limited (TPL), Teijin (Thailand) Limited (TJT) and Teijin Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TCT) each have received the National Occupational Safety and Health Award 2011 from Thailand's Ministry of Labour. TPL has now received the award nine consecutive years, TJT seven and TCT four.

The annual award was established in 1986 to recognize outstanding environmental, safety & health (ESH) activities in Thailand. Applicants are evaluated in terms of ESH policies and initiatives according to various criteria set by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour.

The three Teijin companies have implemented various initiatives to enhance employee safety awareness, including a safety week program for divisions to share information about their respective safety activities. They also organize safety inspections by senior personnel, including the president.

The three companies have been certified under the ISO9001 standard for quality management systems and the ISO14001 standard for environmental management systems. TPL and TJT have also been certified under the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSAS) 18001 standard.
