It is reported that Sinopec has pressed the accelerator in implementation of new caprolactam (CPL) capacity.
Total CPL production capacity of Sinopec and its partners will reach more than 1.3 million tons / year by the end of Twelfth Five-Year Plan (2011-15). This new capacity is expected to basically meet market demand.
Between 2011 and 2015, Baling Petrochemical will expand its CPL output to 300,000 tons / year and Shijiazhuang refinery will expand it to 200,000 tons / year.
The JV between Jiangsu Nanjing Chemical Industrial and DSM will expand CPL capacity to 400,000 tons / year. In addition, it will also build a 200,000 tons / year CPL plant in Fujian and Guangdong, respectively.
