Eurostat declares that November 2005 been compared to November 2004, the volume of retail trade grew by 0.3 Percent in the euro-zone2 and by 1.4 Percent in the EU25.
Compared to October 20053, the retail sales index fell by 0.1 Percent in the euro-zone and rose by 0.4 Percent in the EU25.
Annual changes Among the Member States for which data are available, total retail trade rose in Latvia (+20.6 Percent), Lithuania (+17.7 Percent), Slovakia (+10.2 Percent), Poland (+9.9 Percent), Sweden (+8.9 Percent), Slovenia (+8.5 Percent), Denmark (+5.8 Percent), Finland (+5.1 Percent), the United Kingdom (+1.9 Percent), Portugal (+1.4 Percent), France (+0.5 Percent) and Spain (+0.1 Percent), while falls were recorded in Belgium (-4.1 Percent), Luxembourg (-2.9 Percent) and Germany (-0.6 Percent).
Monthly changes In November 2005, compared with October 2005, “food, drinks and tobacco” fell by 0.4 Percent in the euro-zone and rose by 0.2 Percent in the EU25.
The non-food sector increased by 0.2 Percent and 0.4 Percent respectively.
Among the Member States for which data are available, total retail trade increased in Slovenia (+2.1 Percent), Poland and Sweden (both +1.9 Percent), Denmark (+1.6 Percent), Lithuania (+1.5 Percent), Latvia (+1.4 Percent), Spain (+0.7 Percent), Finland and the United Kingdom (both +0.6 Percent) and France (+0.5 Percent).
Decreases were recorded in Belgium (-2.3 Percent), Luxembourg (-1.6 Percent),Germany (-1.0 Percent), Portugal (-0.8 Percent) and Slovakia (-0.2 Percent).
