Merchants reported that the European market was markedly calm during the last week due to the Christmas holidays; they noticed however some more activities on the Far East market.

Prices for medium staple quality remained on the same level as the week before while prices in the long staple range showed a slightly weaker tendency.

No contracts were closed in the medium staple range.

Egyptian Giza 86 and 88 and Israel Acalpi were traded for the 1st quarter 2012 in the long and extra long staple range.
