Textiles & cotton products record highest growth in November

As per Use-based classification, the sectoral growth rates in November 2005 over November 2004 are 4.5% in Basic goods, 11.8% in Capital goods and 2.0% in Intermediate goods. The Consumer durables and Consumer non-durables have recorded growth of 14.9% and 10.7% respectively, with the overall growth in Consumer goods being 11.8%.

Alongwith the Quick Estimates of IIP for November 2005, the indices for October 2005 have undergone the first revision and those for August 2005 have gone the second (final) revision in the light of the updated data received from the source agencies. There are no significant revisions in the indices for August 2005 and October 2005.

Statements giving Quick Estimates of the Index of Industrial Production at Sectoral, 2-digit level of National Industrial Classification (NIC)-1987 and by Use-based classification for the month of November 2005, along with the growth rates over the corresponding month of previous year, including the cumulative indices and growth rates, are attached.
