An Asahi Kasei Corp naphtha cracker located at Mizushima in Japan is currently operating at 80-85 percent capacity rates.

“The main reason for lowering run rates is due to subdued demand fundamentals in the domestic markets”, an Asahi Kasei revealed to fibre2fashion.

When asked about turnaround plans, he said, “The plant has completed its maintenance in March-April and the next turnaround is scheduled for 2014”.

The naphtha cracker has a production capacity of 504,000 tons per year.
