Japan-based Idemitsu Kosan has shutdown its ethylene production facility located in the Tokuyama refinery for maintenance last week.

A spokesperson of the company informed fibre2fashion that the naphtha cracker was shutdown for maintenance on September 4, 2012.

The exact date of restart has still not been finalised, but is expected to be somewhere in end-October, he said.

The ethylene plant has a production capacity of 623,000 tons / year.
