Visaka Industries Limited being set up near Hyderabad at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore, is scheduled to start operations with capacity of over 50,000 spindles a day during first quarter of next year, informed G Vivekanand, Managing Director of the company.

Two asbestos cement sheet manufacturing units at Vijayawada and Ahmedabad are also planned.

Vivekanand informed that several overseas orders were received for the 200-machine garment facility set up recently at Chennai.

Export market requires main attention as capacity would be enhanced to 1,000 machines in a year and half.

The Rae Barelli unit, set up with an investment of Rs 30 crore, started production from January this year, increasing the installed capacity of the company to 4 lakh sheets, he said.

Whereas Vijayawada unit is scheduled to be completed by October 2006, Vivekanand added.
