Sumitomo restarts CPL plant after turnaround

Sumitomo Chemical recently completed the annual maintenance turnaround of its Caprolactam (CPL) plant and has restarted the plant in the fourth quarter of 2012.

A company official informed fibre2fashion that they completed the turnaround at the CPL plant in the fourth quarter of 2012 and the next will be held in the same period of 2013.

Sumitomo operates two CPL lines. The old CPL line has a capacity of 95,000 tons per annum and the new line has a capacity of 85,000 tons per year.

The CPL plant is located in Niihama in Ehime prefecture in Japan.
