New Asahi Kasei Ulsan ACN plant to start in Q1

Japanese petrochemical major Asahi Kasei is expected to begin commercial production of its new Acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in South Korea in the first quarter of 2013. 
 
According to a Asahi Kasei official who spoke to fibre2fashion, “Depending on market conditions, the new ACN plant located in Ulsan – South Korea will probably begin commercial production in the first quarter of 2013”. 
 
The new ACN plant has a production capacity of 245,000 tons per annum.
 
When quizzed about any upcoming maintenance turnarounds, he informed that the ACN plant in Kawasaki – Japan would undergo maintenance in October 2014.
