Japan based - Asahi Kasei has curtailed capacity rates at its Acrylonitrile (ACN) plant located in Kawasaki.

Fibre2fashion while speaking to a company official learnt that Asahi Kasei has reduced the capacity rates of its Kawasaki ACN plant to 60-70 percent of actual production capacity.

“High raw material cost is the main reason for cutting capacity rates”, the official informed.

The ACN plant has a production capacity of 150,000 tons per annum.

The official also said that there were no plans for a maintenance turnaround at the plant in 2013.
