Welspun to debut towels and bed linen in North America

Welspun India plans to introduce its towels and bed linen products in North America (NA) markets under the aegis of the US-based Umbro brand, in a couple of weeks.
After the success of these products in US, Welspun will target European markets.
With brand Umbro, the company will initially focus on towels only, conveyed Akshay Jindal, President of Welspun India.
Gradually, the company will introduce bed linens under the Umbro umbrella, Jindal said; moreover, another US brand Nautica, already sells Welspun's bed linens.
Currently, the company is producing 24,000 tons of towels and 35 million metres of bed linens each year.
With investment of Rs650 crore, company's bed linen production will go up to 45 million metres; 90 percent for international markets and the rest for domestic markets, Jindal said.
