Arvind Mills Limited plans to double its shifts at Santej and Naroda Denim units to increase denim production to 20 million meters per annum by 2006-07.

The combined denim manufacturing capacity of both the units stands at 10 million metres per annum.

Denim sale will increase in next financial year due to doubling of production in its two units, opines Srinivas Reddy from Adfactors PR Private Ltd.

Company intends to recruit more employees and workers to increase production, he said.

Prices of denim are currently under pressure in the domestic market, whereas export market prices fluctuate as per international market rates, he informed.

Reddy also stated that the company witnessed five percent dip in sales in third quarter ending December 31, 2005, due to overproduction in markets.

Fourth quarter sale for the company is expected to rise compared to third quarter, he estimated.
