Cotton prices in Pakistan remained fixed at Rs2545 per maund, revealed Karachi Cotton Association (KCA), today.
In ready cotton, Rahim Yaar Khan records transactions of 2400 bales at Rs2575 per maund, and at UCH Sharif, 400 bales changed hands for Rs2550 per maund.
Total arrivals of cotton bales as on February 15, 2006 are 12,207,550, in which Punjab share stands at 9,681,058 and that of Sindh is 2,526,492 bales.
From the total arrivals, exporters from Punjab purchased 12,100 bales and Sindh exporters purchased 58,400 bales.
Mill owners purchased 8,089,672 bales of Punjab variety while 2,004,418 bales of Sindh variety was also sold off the blocks.
Total unsold stock of bales stood at 2,042,960 as on February 15, 2006.
