As the cotton markets recorded moderate trade during the last week, cotton prices also remained stable, apart from a minor increase of Rs5 per maund on Tuesday.
Cotton prices on Saturday were Rs2550 per maund, according to sources from Karachi Cotton Association (KCA).
KCA also released prices and transactions of cotton at several stations on February 25, 2006 as follows:
Not a single station recorded transactions of more than 1000 cotton bales. 533 bales changed hands at Hala for Rs2350 per maund, 400 at Jhole for Rs2450, 800 at Sanghar for Rs2450, 800 at SDU for Rs2450 and 400 bales at UCH Sharif for Rs2525 per maund.
According to Cotlook Indices on February 24, 2006, A Index stood at 60.90 and B Index was 58.65.
New York Cotton Market Closing Delivery on February 24, 2006 releases some negative changes. Cotton Futures at New York will decline $0.46 to close at $56.92 for March - 06.
For May futures, cotton prices will again decrease $0.41 to close at $56.61.
