The euro-zone1 industrial producer price index2 rose by 1.2% in January 2006 compared with the previous month. In January 2006, EU25 prices rose by 1.1%.
In December 20053 prices increased by 0.2% in the euro-zone and by 0.6% in the EU25.
In January 2006 compared to January 2005, industrial producer prices rose by 5.3% in the euro-zone and by 7.1% in the EU25.

In January 2006, compared to the previous month, prices in total industry excluding the energy sector increased by 0.4% in both the euro-zone and the EU25.
Prices in the energy sector rose by 4.1% and 2.9% respectively. Intermediate goods gained 0.7% in the euro-zone and 0.6% in the EU25.
In both zones, durable consumer goods increased by 0.4%.
Capital goods rose by 0.3% in the euro-zone and by 0.4% in the EU25.
Non-durable consumer goods gained 0.2% and 0.1% respectively. Among Member States for which data are available, the highest increases were registered in Luxembourg (+3.1%), the Netherlands (+3.0%) and Lithuania (+2.7%). The only decreases were registered in Ireland and Slovenia (both -0.1%).
Annual changes In January 2006, compared to January 2005, and excluding the energy sector, industrial prices increased by 1.6% in both the euro-zone and the EU25.
