Indian wool consumption by domestic apparel manufacturing units may go double in the next five years, says S K Chaudhuri, Woolmark Director (India/South East Asia).

This statement made on the grounds of growing demand for wool in the country.

In terms of figures, India will start consuming 70 million kg of Australian wool every year as compared to 35 million kg in apparel production, Chaudhuri said.

The Woolmark Company was established as a Corporations Law company and a subsidiary of Australian Wool Services on the 1st January 2001.

As a fully commercial business, The Woolmark Company aims to achieve a dynamic force for change and progress in the wool industry.
