Cotton prices decline

After a stability for two or three days, cotton prices recorded decline and the prices today are Rs2500 per maund in Pakistan, sources of Karachi Cotton Association inform.

Around ten thousand cotton bales changed hands at various stations today, according to KCA.

Rohri station took the lead with transaction of 3000 bales for Rs2500 per maund, Jahania followed Rohri with 2700 bales sold at Rs2475, 2000 bales at Hasilpur for Rs2500 and 2000 bales at Bhawalpur for prices between Rs2525 and Rs2550, while NWS recorded only 400 bales at the lowest Rs2450 per maund.

According to Cotlook Indices on March 7, 2006, A Index is stable decreased to 58.70 and B Index also came down to 56.50.
