Raymond mulls over capacity expansion

In a bid to strengthen worsted suiting fabric capacity, Raymond India Ltd, fabric and apparel manufacturer, proposes to invest Rs197 crore (US $44 mn).

The company plans to enhance its fabric capacity of plant at Vapi in Gujarat by 3 million metres, company officials informed.

This move will take the total capacity of plant to 31 million metres per year.

The decision will come into force from April, 2007.
