Welspun to attract through decorative bedding sector
11 Mar '06
1 min read
Welspun has decided to foray into the decorative bedding sector in the international markets with an investment of around US $15 billion.
Akhil Jindal, President, said that developed markets offered complete bedding in a bag, from bed sheets to blankets and comforters.
Welspun plans to offer the same scheme by promoting its 'bed-in-bag' concept.
Jindal said that the concept could be brought into domestic markets as well, in future.
Company also plans to set up a decorative bedding-manufacturing unit at Anjar, Gujarat, with a production capacity of 1.4 million sets per year.
Another 10 million metre capacity is expected to be added by the second quarter of FY 2007 as a part of the Rs650 crore expansion plan.
