HMD Herrenmode Düsseldorf beats menswear exhibitors expectations

The new concept for HMD Herrenmode Düsseldorf developed by trade fair management was presented on Saturday, 4th February 2006 to the trade fair committee which gave it its stamp of approval.

The IGEDO Company's decision to go ahead with HMD Herrenmode Düsseldorf is a good one. This was also confirmed by the successes posted by menswear buyers and exhibitors at CPD DÜSSELDORF from 5 to 7 February 2006. Exhibitors reported busy stands with visits from new customers, informative talks and orders placed by German but also, more particularly, international retailers.

Marco Lanowy, Sales Manager at trouser-maker Alberto in Mönchengladbach, said, “This CPD has exceeded all expectations.”

“The export market has particular surprised us with especially good immediate orders. We also met with unexpected interest from buyers on the domestic market wanting information on trends and our new sales modules,” he added.

Key national and international contacts were also reported by 'Classico Italia', a grouping of top Italian ready-to-wear menswear manufacturers. They used the platform of CPD for the second time now, more specifically to promote their expansionary moves towards Northern and Eastern Europe. This year's success has also confirmed 'Classico Italia's' decision in favour of CPD DÜSSELDORF as a good one and they have already decided to return to the fair in July 2006.

Overall, interest from national and international menswear buyers focused more heavily on the new 2006/07 Autumn/Winter season than on repeat orders for Spring/Summer 2006.

IGEDO Company-commissioned market research revealed that advance orders have risen from 13.5 to 23.0 percent compared to the previous event. Repeat orders for the current 2006 Spring/Summer season also rose slightly by comparison to womenswear.
