McGregor achieves 40% sales growth in 2005

According to the group, Gaastra's activities developed exceptionally positively during the year under review. Sales rose by 48 percent to €32.9 million, representing 27 percent of the group sales. It is sold in three market segments, namely better menswear and womenswear shops, sports and aquatic sports shops and childrenswear shops.

The Retail business unit realized sales totaling €36.8 million in the 2005/2006 financial year, representing an increase of 178 percent in comparison to the previous year. This means that Retail sales account for 31 percent of the total group sales.

New McGregor Shops were opened in Antwerp and Den Bosch during the 2005/2006 financial year. The franchise store in Groningen was also acquired from the former franchisees. This brought the total number of own McGregor Shops to 35 at the end of the financial year, 26 of which are located in the Netherlands, 8 in Belgium and 1 in France.

The outlook for the McGregor wholesale activities for the financial year 2006/2007 is positive. Marked organic growth in sales is forecasted for 2006/2007.

McGregor Fashion Group, founded in 1993, is a European fashion house that focuses on the design, purchasing, marketing, distribution and sales of brand name men's wear, women's wear and children's wear at the upper end of the market. McGregor and Gaastra are the most important brands within the group.

The group furthermore includes the dress shirt brands Dimaggio, King, Elmior and Royal Cotton and the women's fashion brand Lapagayo.
