Priyadarshini Spinning Mills (PSM) Ltd, one of the top manufacturers of cotton and synthetic blended yarns, has planned to establish a unit with a capacity of 10 tons a day.
This is a strategic move as many garment units of European countries like Italy and Spain have stopped manufacturing, informed Srinivas Kodali, Executive Director of PSM.
This has forced garment production to move to India and China, while European countries are confining themselves to furnishing and fashion business, which require less labour and more technology, finishing and shorter deadlines.
The company, which announced in September last year that it would increase the capacity of dye house to five tons a day from 45 tons a month, has changed its plans, considering the increasing demand.
