APBF 2006 'Public-Private Partnerships' in Indonesia

Asia-Pacific Business Forum (APBF) 2006 will take place during April 7-8, 2006 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Indonesia. The Forum will take place in conjunction with the sixty-second annual UNESCAP Commission Session, to assure the presence of ministers and senior government officials from across the Asia-Pacific region.

Initiated in 2004, the Asia-Pacific Business Forum (APBF) provides a unique annual forum for region-wide business networking, partnership building and dialogue among the business community, Governments and civil society on how to create an enabling environment for sustainable business growth.
It also provides a useful forum to discuss the roles of Governments and enterprises in meeting the challenges of globalization.
The President of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono; the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Hon. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and the Secretary-General of UNCTAD, Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi as well as other high-profile speakers will address this year's forum, which focuses on how the public and private sector can work together to ensure sustainable economic and social development.
Over 400 business executives, senior officials, academics and representatives of civil society from the Asian and Pacific region and other regions are expected to participate. To assure the presence of ministers and senior government officials from across Asia and the Pacific, the APBF is organized back-to-back with the annual UNESCAP Commission Session.
