Stankiewicz added that the Airbus agreement signals long-term growth and stability for Tex Tech.
"We are excited that we have been able to grow our business in Maine and offer quality jobs in the community," said Stankiewicz. "We owe much of our success to our talented and dedicated employees. We also appreciate the support we have received from local, state and federal governments, and from the people of Maine."
Tex Tech has more than 200 employees at its North Monmouth facility. It also has offices in Portland, Maine, Arizona, Virginia, Thailand, China and Ireland.
"Tex Tech is a global company that chose to grow its business in Maine and we appreciate their dedication to the state," said Jack Cashman, commissioner for the Department of Economic and Community Development. "Maine's businesses will continue to succeed on a global level because of the talent and hard work of our workforce."
Francois Gauthier, the Consulate General of France in Boston, also was on hand to congratulate Tex Tech and recognize Maine's continuing presence in the European market.
"The business venture established between Tex Tech and Airbus is another example of the successful business relationship between Maine and Europe," said Gauthier. "It also symbolizes how technology-driven businesses do not have borders within our global economy."
Portland, Maine based Tex Tech is a global manufacturer of high-tech textiles. TexTech is a leading supplier of tennis ball felt products, using advanced textile technology to produce woven and needled felts engineered for optimal playing conditions on each type of tennis court surface.
Toulouse, France based Airbus S.A.S. is a European consortium producing the Airbus family of passenger aircraft, a corporate jet, the beluga supertransport and a military transport.
