New SIBUR Russia PP plant to begin production in April

A new polypropylene (PP) plant being built by SIBUR is scheduled to start production by the end of this month. 
 
According to a SIBUR official, the overall construction of the PP plant located in Tobolsk, Russia has been completed and production is scheduled to begin by April-end. 
 
Providing more details he said, “The plant has two units. The PDH (Propane dehydrogenation) or propylene unit has a production capacity of 510 KTA and the PP production unit has capacity of 500 KTA.”
 
“The PDH plant will be on line by late-May or early June and initial feedstock will be provided by other SIBUR plants in Nizhny Novgorod Region”, he added.
 
As per plans, they expect to see the Tobolsk-Polymer plant completely on-stream by the end of June and the full effect will be seen in 2014.
