These negative factors will more than offset the improvement the company is achieving in its high-end specialty fibers and nonwoven materials.

Buckeye Chairman, David Ferraro, stated, "While we are disappointed in our financial results, we believe the manufacturing difficulties that plagued us this quarter are behind us. We are pleased with the facility we have constructed in Brazil and believe it will be a significant profit contributor to the Company in the future. We are also pleased with our ability to maintain our margins in our high-end specialty fibers in the face of the extraordinary energy driven cost increases we have incurred."

Buckeye plans to announce its January-March 2006 earnings on April 25th 2006 and has scheduled a conference call at 10:30 EST, Wednesday, April 26th 2006 to discuss its quarterly results.

Buckeye, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty fibers and nonwoven materials, is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The Company currently operates facilities in the United States, Germany, Canada, and Brazil. Its products are sold worldwide to makers of consumer and industrial goods.
