Federal Statistical Office has been receiving many enquiries due to an increase in the value-added tax.
In this matter, the Federal Statistical Office reports as follows:
An increase in the value-added tax to 19 percent would raise the rate of price increase – measured by the consumer price index for Germany – by a maximum of about 1.4 percentage points.
Currently the rate of price increase is 2.1 percent.
